My editor provided what she calls “big picture thoughts.” If you hire an editor and can afford only one kind of editing service, I would choose this one. Why? Because you might waste your time fixing line edits that will be cut or changed in order to address the big picture problems like pacing, character development, conflict, story arc, etc.
