What a weird week. My kids go back to school this Thursday, so I hope to be back on schedule with posts.
Publishing Pick
This reminds me of Harriet The Spy. I would have read the mess out of this as a kid.
Imaginary Lunch Date
Over ginger tea and cassava bread, Edwidge Danticat and I discuss home. We talk of mothers and women who didn’t birth us but were our mothers just the same. We laugh in the face of histories written by men and long to hold the hands of women who are no longer here. I listen as she tells me tales woven by generations of aunts and grandmothers, storytellers of pain and surrender, of strength and love.
